EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Tanzania Warehouse Licensing Board was established following the enactment of Warehouse Receipt Act. No.10 of 2005, by the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Objectives of the Board is to lead organization of commodity procedures to formal credit and commodity marketing through the Warehouse Receipt System, to attract more smallholders producer to join the system and thereby link to buyers of commodity and to link commodity procedures to formal credit and commodity marketing using an efficient Warehouse Receipt System. 
The Board Chairman invites applications from qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill the vacant post in the
Tanzania Warehouse Licensing Board as follows:
JOB TITLE: MANAGING DIRECTOR
REPORTING TO:
He/ She will be reporting to thePermanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(i) Master’s Degree in Economics,Commerce Management, Agribusiness,Business Administration or equivalent qualifications,
(ii) Five (5) years of working experience at a Senior Management level in public or reputable private organization in the relevant field,
(iii) Age range between 40-50 years,
(iv) Fluent in both spoken and written English and Swahili,
(v) Computer literate.This being a Managerial Post, the candidate should also posses:Strong organizational managerial,skills and good inter personal skills with ability to delegate, train, develop and motivate staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITEIS:
(i) To ensure that the Board prepares and implements its vision, mission and strategic plan for the total fulfillment of the objectives of the Board,
(ii) To supervise technical activities of the Board undertaken by Heads of Departments,
(iii) To manage funds, property and business of the Board and for the administration, organization and control of staff of the Board,
(iv) To represent the Board in various forums as provided for by the legislation or as may be required from time to time by the Board of Directors,
(v) To authorize and supervise expenditures of the Board as per Boards financial regulations with prior approval of the Board of Directors,
(vi) Subject to any directives by the of Directors, to be final decision making authority on all matters of the Board,
(vii) To be the Chief Executive Officer of the Board and shall be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Board,
(viii) To ensure that the Board initiatives are consistent with government policies and the Warehouse Receipt Act,
(ix) To submit to the Board of Directors at any particular time a report containing:-
° Performance indicators and other related information
° The operations of the Board,
° Such other information as the Board of Directors may require

Over 100 journalists have been picked as nominees for the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) 2013.

The names of the nominees were read out by the Pili Mtambalike on behalf of the chairperson of the EJAT Organising Committee, Kajubi Mukajanga at a press conference held on February 25, 2014 at the offices of the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT).

 The nominees were picked by a nine-member panel of EJAT judges headed by veteran journalist and media trainer Gervas Moshiro.

 Other members of the panel who scrutinized over 900 entries submitted for the competition were Mwanzo Millinga, Pili Mtambalike, Chrysostom Rweyemamu, Ananilea Nkya, Jesse Kwayu, Hassan Mittawi, Pudenciana Temba and Suleiman Kissoky.

The judges sifted and scrutinized the entries for seven days from February 7, 2014. They were sworn in to undertake the arduous task by the President of the Governing Board of MCT, Justice Dr. Robert Kisanga on January 29, 2014.

The hundred plus one journalists picked as nominees for EJAT 2013 will find out who among them are the winners for the coveted awards in the 19 categories of EJAT on March 14, at a Gala Night to be held at Mlimani City Hall in Dar es Salaam.

The number of nominees have increased by 24.6 percent compared to last year where we had 81 nominees only.

Of the total number of 101 nominees, 46 are from print media which is an increase of 5 more nominees as compared to 41 of last year.

The number of TV nominees has also increased from 21 last year to 39 this year while for TV there is a decrease of three nominees.

There has been an increase in the number of female journalists nominated from 11 in the 2012 awards to 18 in the 2013 awards which is an increase of 63.6 per cent.

The Judge President of the East African Court of Justice, Hon. Justice Harold Nsekela, will be the Chief Guest at the Awards Giving Ceremony.

Meanwhile a panel of experts of Life Time Achievement in Journalism award(LAJA) has also submitted names of nominees and the winner will be announced at the same Awards Giving Gala Night.
The (LAJA) panel was chaired by Theophil Makunga and members included Joyce Mhavile, Lilian Kallaghe, Jenerali Ulimwengu and Hamisi Mzee.

TERMS AND CONDITION OF SERVICE:
Appointment will be contract terms of two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. 



1.POSITION TITLE: SHIFT IN CHARGE-(2 POSITIONS)
SCOPE OF POSITION: 

Successful applicant must be read to work on “shift” basis including weekends and public holydays. They should be willing to work for considerable lengths of time away from their permanent stations with minimum supervision. 



POSITION RELATIONSHIP: 
The position holder shall report to the head of weighbridge unity
A: RESPONSIBILITY:
i.Enforcement of road traffic axle load controlby the use of weighbridge scale devices. 


ii.Overall supervision of shift activities
B: DUTIES
Carrying out activities as described in the road traffic (maximum weight of vehicles) regulations, 2001. The activities
1.Weight motor vehicle of gross weight (GVW) on our public road.
2.If the vehicleis found overloaded the operator should impose roaddamage free on the spot. 


3.Measure physical dimension of motor vehicle, or any load being carried on motor vehicleand in case of non compliance with physical dimension limits, the transporters should be cause to seek for a special permit. 


4.For trucks carrying abnormal loads with special permits, the weighbridge operator shall ascertain compliance to the permit. Any discrepancy should be reported to the weighbridge in charge for appropriate action. Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed.

2.POSITION TITTLE: WEIGHBRIDE OPERATORS (5 VACANCIES) 
Successful applicant must be read to work on “shift” basis including weekends and public holydays. They should be some times be prepared to work for considerable the use length on time away from their permanent ratification.

The position holder shall report to the shiftin charge.
A: RESPONSIBILY:

3. POSITIONTITTLE: accounts assistant-(1 vacancy)
A: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Holder of this post who reports to head of accounts and administration will be responsible for:
1.enforcing of road traffic Axle load control by the use of weighbridge scale devices; 


2.Carrying out activities as describe in the road traffic ( maximum weight of vehicle) regulation 2001 with including the fallowing:
i.Collecting and banking all weighbridge report for;
ii.Seeking current USD exchange rates issued by banking of Tanzania for case of imposing change rates issued by that are equivalent to Tanzania for case of imposing charges that are equivalent to Tanzania shilling;filling all records timely;
iii.Filling all records timely; 


iv.Maintaining asset register;
v.Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity;
vi.Reporting all matter to the shift in- charge;
vii.Performingother duties as many be assigned from time to time by head of accounting and administration/regional manager. 


B: KEY QUALIFICATION: 
1.Holder of ordinary diploma in accounting or certificate of accountancy from any recognized institute.
2. Must be computer literate ( at least advanced certificate in computer application)
3. Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili language
4. Must be Tanzanian citizen
5. Age: not above 35 years of age.


4. POSITION TITLE:ASSISTANCT- (1 VACANCY)
A: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Carrying out activities as described in the road traffic (maximum weigh of vehicles) regulations, 2001. The activities including the fallowing:
1.Cleaning offices, washrooms and other office premises;
2.Preparing and serving tea, coffee and refreshment;
3.Moving files and documents as directed;
4.Undertaking photocopying/ building of documents as directed;
5.Dispatching letters or parcels;
6.Observing good customers care, dignity and integrate
7.Reporting all matters to the shift in- charge;
8.Performing such other related duties as many be assigned by the senior staff.


KEY QUALIFICATION: 
1. Holder of a certificate of secondary education exam.(ESEE)
2. Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili language
3. Must be Tanzanian citizen
4. Age: not above 35 years of age.


6.POSITION TITLE:DRIVER-(1 VACANCY) 
A: duties and responsibilities:
The holder of this post who reports to shift incharge will be responsible for carrying out activities as described in the road traffic maximum weigh of vehiclethe fallowing;
1.Driving motorsvehicle in urban and remote areas;
2.Maintaining the vehicle log book and all accident records pertaining to the assigned vehicle;
3.Keeping repairs or maintenance needs of the vehicleto the shift in- charge timely;

4.Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English language

POSITION TITLE:SECURITY GUARD (3 VACANCY)
A: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

i.Guarding the premises and properties of the agency
ii.Watch for report irregularities or hazards
iii.Control of vehicle
iv.Apprehends any one who threatens loss damage safety or security to agency property and immediately informs the management and / the police
v.Assist in providing evidence in criminal cases involving theft or damage of agency property. 


vi.Any other duty assigned by office supervisor. 


KEY QUALIFICATION: 
1.Holder of a certificate of secondary education exam.(ESEE)
2.Must have attended people’ militia course(mgambo)
3.Age: not above 40 years of age. 


REMUNERATIONS: 
Attractiveremuneration and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidates for the above position as per TANROADS salary scales.
