I
fell asleep after inning 13, but still somewhat disappointed the Angels
couldn't pull it off. I did manage to watch the Mets/Marlins game -
that was a good game despite the fact that there weren't any people left
at the stadium compared to those at the Angel's/A's game....heh

+Michael Barney umm, I'm pretty sure the Braves got shitted on two games in a row. Overrated much?

This is Matt Harvey. He leads the Majors with a 0.69 WHIP. He is 24. Might want to get to know him.

BTW, when are you going to partner mlb.tv
with local TV stations so we can watch local games? ( I have had my
subscription for 5 years and am sick of not being allowed to watch 50%
of the games that i would like to see!!!) I would actually like to even
see the local commercials. It is awkward to sit there in silence. Let
the advertisers get their money and let me watch local games!

+Kelly Grothe
there were no other position players left on the bench other than
Shoppack - and I don't think he would have made it to 3rd, let alone
home. Also, with 2 out in the bottom of 14 down 1 run, and the #8
hitter on deck, the Tigers had to make 2 decent throws to get him.
Better odds to send him that to hope the bottom of the order delivers a
hit.
In answer to other questions about the shortstop blocking 2nd base, typically a SS isn't wearing shin guards - if he has the ball, he can certainly block the base and make the tag, but he runs the risk of taking some spikes to his vitals. A runner also cannot overrun another base (other than 1st of course) like he can home plate. If a runner wanted to collide with the SS who had the ball at 2nd base, he could, and then he could also get tagged out after he made an ass of himself.
Ruling 1: - If the fielder blocks the path of the base runner to the base (plate), the runner may make contact, slide into, or collide with a fielder as long as the runner is making a legitimate attempt to reach the base or plate.

This whole brother thing seems to be working out.

I
loved what the Yankees and their fans did yesterday... Playing, and
belting out "Sweet Caroline". ... Very, very nice touch :) . Putting
the rivalry aside, and gathering in support :) :) .
