Today was the final day of WTM
2014 at ExCeL London. Sunderland AFC continued to strengthen its links
with Tanzania in particular, following the signing of a ground-breaking
business partnership, which sees the country become the ‘Official
Destination Partner’ of Sunderland AFC.
Once again Sunderland
officials were present at the Tanzania’s stand at the world
travel market not only to give support to Tanzania Tourist
board as tourism is a key factor in the upward growth of the Tanzanian
economy and the partnership aims to use the global reach of the
Barclays Premier League to promote the country as a tourist destination.
Premier League football is watched in over 200 countries, with
accumulative audience of a phenomenal 4.7 billion, making it the most
watched sporting league in the world but also free tickets were
offered through a rafle to watch a match between Sunderland
and Chelsea. Present was the Tanzania high commissioner H.E
Peter kallaghe and other dignitaries .
