Rwanda international, Patrick Mafisango was finally
laid to rest at his native home country of DRC Congo in a sombre
ceremony attended by thousand of mourners in Kinshasa.
Mafisango who died in a grisly road accident on Thursday morning
was eulogised as a great footballer who had inspired many upcoming
football players.
Mafisango's best friend and close confidant Haruna Moshi who
accompanied the body to its final resting place was inconsolable .
Mafisango is survived by a wife and three children who all attended the burial ceremony.
Meanwhile the Rwanda national team nicknamed the Amavubi honoured
Mafisango in a 45 minute sombre event before their training session on
Friday. The event was attended by officials from the ministry of sports,
Ferwafa, Amavubi players and APR fans.
Fefwafa pledged to honour the player by organising a charity
football match in honour of Mafisango to acknowledge the role he played
at the national team.
Rwanda's coach Milutin Sredejovic popularly refered to as Micho was a
sad man as he spoke to SuperSport.com "Life is a mystery as people are
born, live and die but Mafisango was a special player who left many
things behind him with a lot of titles won "
"Mafisango was a great player and it is important to appreciate life
and know that is is more than valuable and impossible to measure" Micho
added
Mafisango played for both APR and Atraco in Rwanda before moving to Simba in Tanzania.
